Roxat’s family moved to Kerala from West Bengal 12 years ago. Now they live in CH Housing Colony. Roxat’s father is a laborer by profession. His mother worked in various homes to help the family financially.

Khatun said that he used to study in class one in a school in West Bengal. Then when they moved there with their family, he started studying anew. He says it was a little difficult for him to read Malayalam at first, but he became fluent in speaking Malayalam with his friends.
